Mall patrons will have the chance to face off with radio and TV personalities during a fun morning of Wii bowling

WILKES-BARRE-  “Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013,” the signature fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge, is set for Saturday, March 23 at Stanton Lanes in Wilkes-Barre. Last year’s event attracted nearly 300 teams and raised $92,000 for the local chapter of the nationally recognized mentoring program.

In celebration and in anticipation of “Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013,” Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge will host a “Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013 Kickoff” on Saturday, January 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Wyoming Valley Mall. The event, which will be held near the inside entrance to Sears, will feature “Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013” honorary chairs Frankie Warren of Magic 93 and Tom and Noreen Clark of WNEP-TV and will offer mall patrons the opportunity to face off against them during a fun morning of video game bowling using the Wii. The “Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013” kickoff games with Frankie, Tom and Noreen will be “bowled” on a 72-inch flat screen TV. Bowlers will be chosen on a first-come basis, though those that register a team for Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013 will be given the first chance to throw some strikes and try to outscore the Big Brothers Big Sisters supporters from radio and television.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge is a program of Catholic Social Services and a United Way partner agency.
