Big Brother Chase and Little Brother Michael met in March of 2020, just prior to the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic. They are from Monroe County, Little Brother Michael started the mentoring program hoping for a male role model that he could look up to and spend time with. While Big Brother Chase, hoped for a chance to share a similar mentor-mentoree relationship, which he received at a young age in his life. Both enjoy being active, exploring new things and share a sense of sarcasm which brings a lot of jokes and laughs. “My time spent with my little and watching him grow and learn is extremely gratifying, and gives me a sense of purpose I didn’t have before” – Big Brother Chase Mattioli.

Although they are 20 years apart in age, Chase and Michael have created a bond of shared activities such as cooking, snowboarding, and swimming “Chase has definitely stepped up as a mentor and role model to Michael. Chase’s influence has been life-changing for Michael, and I wish I could replicate him 100x’s over throughout the BBBS program.”- Jennifer (Little Brother Michael’s mother)
