Bring a Little Magic into Someone's Life - Become a Big In our own lives, each of us was touched by someone -other than our parents- who introduced us to new worlds, and brought a little magic into our lives…catching fireflies for the first time, flying a kite, a first trip to the ballpark.

The History of Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge
began in Luzerne County in 1974. Since that time services have been offered in Wyoming, Columbia, Monroe, and Carbon Counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Annually, the program matches over 500 youth in a variety of services.

Since its inception in 1974, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge has strived to provide high quality mentoring services to the children and families of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters programs is provided through the various United Ways, state or federal grants, private donations and fund-raising efforts and program development.

How Your Donation Helps

Big Brothers Big Sisters receives more than half of its operating income from private donations. The program's success depends on contributions that it receives from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge serves hundreds of children in Northeast Pennsylvania, however there are so many more that are still waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.

With your donation, we can recruit, screen, train and match Big Brothers and Big Sisters with the children that are on the waiting list. We are committed to matching as many children as we can. The generosity of individuals like you allows us to match more children in your community.

Thank you for your support.
